SNRI (selective serotonin and noradrenaline reuptake inhibitor) n. any one of a class of antidepressant drugs that increase the availability of serotonin and noradrenaline by blocking the reabsorption of these neurotransmitters by nerve endings in the brain. The group includes venlafaxine (also licensed for the treatment of generalized anxiety disorder) and duloxetine (also licensed for treating stress incontinence in women).
